Class of 2019 SME Graduation Gala
Graduation gala
On May 18, CUHK-Shenzhen SME held the cohort of 2015 graduation gala for all graduates and gave the best wishes to them.
Start a new journey
The SME General Office made lots of effort to organize this activity and gave their best wishes to each graduate. Baidu Ren is comprised of several pieces of proses of president Xu in the past few years. The philosophy in this book as a kind of encouragement and motto will accompany all graduates. The bookmark inscribed “乾坤正气 高情远志” in Chinese (English back translation: do right things with integrity and set high goals with passion) is another motivation. The customized ring for each graduate is craved with the name and student number inside. All are best wishes of SME to each graduate.
Time capsule
How much a person would change during four years? In their year one, SME shot photos for all students and in their year four, SME also shot photos for them and produced a photo video. The time capsule witnessed their growth in this four years from a young teenager to a confident, brave and mature adult. The graduates start their journey from the starting square of the university to general library and then to the world. The time capsule recorded their transformation and growth. Before the graduation, some students from cohort of 2015 shot a Vlog to record the scenery and life on campus.
In the four years of the university, the most impressive memory for them is their persistent efforts to study. The remix made up of professors’ catch phrases reminded them of four-year classes and won applause from graduates who were immersed in the feelings of moving. The professors who could not attend in person also gave their wishes via video. President Xu said the graduates had grown personally when he recalled the first time he saw the students of cohort of 2015. Prof. Xiong, academic dean of SME, hoped everyone could keep learning, seize opportunities, have a long-term perspective and learn how to cooperate with others.
May all SME graduates of cohort of 2015 could brave the wind and waves with the experiences of these four years.
