McMaster University Vice-Provost visits CUHK-Shenzhen
Prof. Peter Mascher, Vice-Provost for International Affairs from McMaster University, visited CUHK-Shenzhen on 8 November 2019 to explore research and educational collaboration opportunities between the two institutions. Prof. Mascher was hosted by Prof. Shiping Zhu, Vice President for External and Student Affairs, Prof. Tom Luo, Vice President for Academics, Prof. Jianwei Huang, Associate Dean of School of Science and Engineering, and Mr. Paul Ke, Director of Office of Academic Links.
McMaster University is a public institution that was founded in 1887. Its main campus is in a suburban neighborhood of Hamilton, Ontario, near the western edge of Lake Ontario and not far from the U.S. border. In the 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities rankings, the university ranked 90th in the world and third-highest in Canada. The university has six main academic divisions – engineering, health sciences, humanities, science, social sciences and the DeGroote School of Business. McMaster has received accolades for its research strengths, particularly in the field of health sciences. For five years in a row, McMaster has ranked second in for biomedical and health care research revenues by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada.
