The Opening Ceremony of Nursing &Lactation room of Shaw College

On March 8th, 2017, the International Working Women's Day, Professor Janny Leung, Master of Shaw College, announced that F201-2 would be set up as Nursing & Lactation room of CUHK (SZ). And on March 30th, 2017, the opening ceremony was held in Senior Teacher Restroom F201 of Shaw College at 11 am. Vice-president of CUHK (SZ), Mr. Kin Chung YUEN, Master of Shaw College Professor Janny Leung, Director of Administrative Service Office and UPOC, Ms. Dorothy Wong, Director of Human Resources Center Mrs. Agatha Kan, Deputy Director of President Office, Ms. Lydia CAO was present.

Prof. Jenny Leung mentioned in her speech that female staff had no maternity leave when she got her first jobs 30 years ago. But female got more care as the society developed. As the master of Shaw College, she was honored to offer humanistic concern under the limited resources, to offer females in lactation a closed room with sofas, chairs, kitchens, lavatories and so on. She hoped these would bring female staff convenience so that they can focus more on work.

Ms. Cao pointed out that, the open of Nursing & Lactation Room will not only full of humanistic concern, fulfill the basic need of female staff in lactation, but become the symbol of an international university. It also showed the people oriented concept of the university. As a female staff and mother, she gave her appreciation to Shaw College on behalf of CUHK (SZ).

Ms. Dorothy Wong said that after the first phase construction of campus put into service, Dao Yuan Building will offer more similar heart-warming arrangement to staff. Please be expected.

After the opening ceremony, guests had nice discussions, believing that the open of Nursing & Lactation Room will be a good start. The development of Shaw College will also follow the concept of people oriented and health services, to develop solidly.
