Fourteen undergraduate students of CUHK-Shenzhen have been granted subsidies to study abroad by China Scholarship Council (CSC).

It is the first time for CUHK-Shenzhen to receive subsidies from CSC, which included the students in the first beneficiaries of the Outstanding Undergraduate International Exchange Program (OUIEP) in 2018. The subsidies will cover necessary expenditures of the students during their overseas study, including those on round-trip transportation, accommodation, registration, visa application and academic activities.

CUHK-Shenzhen was qualified to join in OUIEP in 2017. And earlier this year, the CSC approved 22 international exchange programs proposed by the University.

The OUIEP is executed by the CSC and aimed at boosting cooperation between renowned top-notch Chinese universities and world-leading institutions, advancing cross-cultural communications, and improving students’ awareness of innovation, ability to practice knowledge and global competence. The program is also expected to foster competitive talents in the fields which are in a short supply in China.

With a growing international profile, CUHK-Shenzhen has witnessed an expanding international partnership. The international cooperation program has seen a rise in its number and diversity. The University has established concrete cooperation with 71 renowned universities in the world, including Oxford University, Cambridge University, Colombia University, University of Pennsylvania, Waseda University. The University has been actively seeking support from state education authorities to encourage students to participate in overseas study programs.
