Experience China--UBTECH Company visit for 2019 Spring Semester Exchange students

On March 22nd 2019, 9 exchange students went to Nanshan District to visit UBTECH, a global leading AI and humanoid robotic startup company. The students were impressed by their advanced technologies in rthe obot manufacturing industry.

The staff in UBTECH exhibited the latest robot models they’ve been working on—the robot that can walk on its two legs. Such robots have performed on the stage of the Spring Festival Gala. The staff introduced the processes and difficulties they had to overcome when developing these robots. The students also asked some questions they were interested in at the Q&A part, such as how much was the investment in developing this robot, the market selling price of it, as well as the flaws they found out when they tested the robot.

Later on, the staff showed several types of robots that are selling in the market. Most of them had education and entertainment functions. The staff also gave an order to the robots to dance with music. They also presented how a robot called ‘Wukong’ can read books for children and imitate the movements of human precisely. The students were amazed by the advanced high-tech.

 In the end, the staff delivered a presentation about all the products they were selling. He introduced the function and advertisement of these different types of robots.

 As an educational activity held by OAL, company visits can let exchange students feel the innovation of Shenzhen local corporations, especially the vital importance of high-tech in the development of Shenzhen.
