Interactions with participants were followed.

[Impacts of social and economic factors on the transmission of coronavirus disease (covid-19) in China]

Professor Pengfei Wang holds that 1) The epidemic period is an unusual period of time 2) Panic buying and flocking to hospitals worsened the crisis; 3) The government should take prompt actions to facilitate production via subsidies and directives; 4) China has done a great job. Professor Hanming Fang finds China’s social distancing policies effective in reducing the spread of Covid-19 in the destination cities. Based on the experience of China, Professor Xi Chen finds that 1) reducing continuous community transmission in the place where Covid-19 was first spotted has the most significant impact on the containment of the virus compared to other methods, and this goal can be achieved by restricting human mobility in high-risk areas; 2) Public health measures at a local level (such as community lockdown andstay-at-home ) can further reduce infections.
The Forum attracted more than 230 participants including recognized economists and industry professionals.
