ETH Zurich visits CUHK-Shenzhen

Prof. Gerhard Schmitt, Senior Vice-President of ETH Global in Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH Zurich), and Dr. Rahel Byland, Programme Manager Aisa at ETH Global visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen on 26th October 2017.

It is the first time the ETH Zurich delegates visit CUHK-Shenzhen. A meeting was held to discuss about potential collaboration between two universities in education, research, student exchange and staff sharing.  Prof. Jesús Seade, Associate Vice President for Global Affairs; Prof. Changwen Chen, Dean for School of Science & Engineering; Prof. Michael Ferguson, Executive Associate Dean for School of Management & Economics and other representatives from Office of Academic Links attended the meeting.

 

During the visit, ETH Zurich delegation paid visits to and met with managers of Diligentia College, School of Management and Economics and School of Science and Engineering. During the visit, the delegates got to understand the collegiate system, programmes and courses being taught, as well as other special events at CUHK-Shenzhen. Prof. Gerhard Shmitt was deeply impressed by the development and achievement CUHK-Shenzhen has made since 2014. Also, he showed great interest and confidence to future cooperation between ETH Zurich and CUHK-Shenzhen.
