CUHK (SZ) Held the First Admission Information Session

With its global vision and a will to cultivate international talents, CUHK (SZ) has started implementing its admission plan since receiving the qualification certificate from the Ministry of Education of China last month.

   With its global vision and a will to cultivate international talents, CUHK (SZ) has started implementing its admission plan since receiving the qualification certificate from the Ministry of Education of China last month. The admission information session held in Shenzhen high school on April 10th thus becomes the first stop of a nationwide recruitment tour

     With a goal of cultivating top talents, CUHK (SZ) begins its first undergraduate admission plan. Capitalizing on CUHK’s established strengths in a number of academic disciplines, academic programmes to be offered by CUHK (SZ) are in line with global trends of higher education and are adapted to the industrial, economic, social and cultural development on the Mainland. Among the first major courses provided, according to the curriculum provision of CUHK (SZ), there will be courses of Marketing, Global Business and Economics. 300 new undergraduates from nationwide, most of whom are from Guangdong Province, will start their new life on the university campus since the 2014 academic year. 

      “CUHK (SZ) emphasizes humanity education and Chinese traditional culture, practices bilingual education in class,” said Professor Xu Yangsheng. “CUHK (SZ) is committed to creating new knowledge with innovative thinking, while preserving and promoting traditional Chinese culture.” “We emphasize innovation and creativity among our students, and shall develop fields of study that combine different disciplines and are poised at the cutting edge of human knowledge,” the President added. “We adopt the collegiate system and have general education in the undergraduate curriculum; these are the hallmarks of CUHK education. Both traditions encourage the all-round development of students. ”

       To ensure fairness and objectivity, CUHK (SZ) plans to implement a “Comprehensive Evaluation System” in admissions, taking both examination scores and interview results into account.
