2015 Open House for International High Schools

On January 17th, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen held its first Open House for International High Schools.

 On January 17th, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen held its first Open House for International High Schools. Thirteen representatives including university guidance counselors and principals from different international high schools in the mainland and Hong Kong took part in the Open House event. The representatives participated in all sessions actively and acquired information of international student admissions at our university. Prof. Qin, Vice President of External and Student Affairs, welcome the guests and showed them the planning model of the University. Then Prof. Xu, the President of the University arrived, stepping forward to shake hands with each representative delightedly and took pictures with everyone. President Xu showed the guests around and introduced the calligraphy exhibition on campus.

    During the meeting session,the school heads introduced the University, its mission and vision, the management framework and the quality of teaching staff. The details of the procedure of the international student recruitment and the international exchange programs were also introduced. During the tea brake, the representatives relaxed themselves and communicated with each other.

     Four students, Twinkle Murli Sujanani, Jing Chen, Wei Wan, and Haodong Zhang at the University shared their experiences and thoughts on the university environment and campus life, on the volunteer service abroad, their academic studies and the student activities. The guests showed great interests in listening to the stories and interacting with the students. They asked questions from various perspectives, and the students addressed the issues and concerns in proper manners. After the conference, the guested joined a campus tour, visiting the library, the robot laboratory, the stadium and so on. The 1stopen house received positive feedback from the guests, with further communications and cooperation to come in the future.
