The First Day of New Students Registration for School of Management and Economics—the Journey from “Academic Excellence” to “Business Leadership” Begins
On Aug 29, School of Management and Economics (SME) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, welcomed new students in the 2018 class.
In Teaching Building A, new students completed the registration and began their first step in the university.
They then listened to the introduction by the International Program Team about School’s study abroad program, tripartite program and combined degree program.
In addition, Career Development Center (CDC) provided the information about further study, internship and job opportunities. The academic calendar in CDC’s brochure was used to help students make plans in coming four years.
The School also gave each new student a gift package with a T-shirt, notebook, USB and other souvenirs.
SME Marketing and Communications had designed a paper bag for students to take the SME brochure, SME welcome book and personalized name cards with them. Student could use the name card in class to facilitate interaction between professor and student, and among students.
Afterwards, new students listened to the introduction of activities about the following clubs from senior students, Financial Club, Marketing Club, Accounting Club, Consulting Club and Supply Chain and Logistics Management (SCLM) Club.
The School set the academic advisory to answer students’ questions.
President Yangsheng Xu, Vice President Shiping Zhu and Vice President K.C. Yuen expressed the warm greetings to our students, their parents, and appreciated the efforts of senior students and staff.
The School also offered dessert and drink for them to enjoy. There was also a big LED screen for students and parents to watch the SME School video and the MV of one of the SME graduates, Gilbert Li.
