NBA Player Aaron Gordon Playing on Campus
100 days well before the 2019 NBA Shenzhen Games, the vibe of the game has already spread across the campus of CUHK-Shenzhen, where Aaron Gordon, NBA star player for the Orlando Magic, just made a visit on July 4th.
Aaron Addison Gordon, born on September 16, 1995, is an American professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the NBA. He mainly serves as a power forward/small forward in the team. Known for his jaw-dropping dunks and relentless hustle, he was once named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the year and the MVP of McDonald's All-American Game in 2013 and was thus picked into the NIT All-Tournament team. After entering the NBA through the draft in 2014, Gordon has been playing for the Magic.
On July 4th, welcomed by rounds of applause and cheers from the enthusiastic students, Gordon walked briskly into the stadium of the CUHK-Shenzhen. He shared some tips for playing basketball like a pro with the students and played crazy hoops with a student named Yi Hongpeng, who stood out among the four contestants and won the opportunity to compete with the NBA star player.
During the event, fans sat around in a circle and talked with Gordon about his professional career and his experiences.
"It is basketball that brought me here. Playing basketball becomes a part of my life. This process is bittersweet, mixed with tears and pain and love and joy.” Said him.
When asked about his trip to China, Gordon gave it high evaluations.
"I have been to Shanghai, Hong Kong and many Chinese cities. I like China as well as the food here. I especially like dim sum."
