Activity Review丨2019 Shaw College New Year Party

The New Year Party is one of the traditional activities of Shaw College. On January 11th, the 2019 Shaw College New Year Party – Meet with France - officially began at F301. 

At noon, our Vice President Prof. Shiping ZHU and Prof. Janny LEUNG sent New Year greetings to the attendees.

Soon afterwards, Wang Yihe from SME and Shaw College brought us a joyful French song performance, followed by a catwalk show displaying French-style costumes from the 14th-20th century. The show was to the Wesign Association’s credit, and was a truly audiovisual feast.   

Meanwhile, the attendees enjoyed the exquisite French cuisine prepared by five-star French chefs. After the big meal, the compere announced the beginning of the lucky draw session, which rendered an upbeat atmosphere. In the bursts of cheers, several ‘lucky kois’ (winners) gladly returned with perfume and red wine.

The party also conducted a guessing game called ‘You Describe and I Guess’, which required two participants to figure out the riddle with oral description. The gaming process was like comic dialogues as some jokes coming up now and then, leading to lots of laughter on spot.

After the party, the students came to the photo wall to take photos. Staff of Shaw College also prepared a variety of photo props including French-style hair ornaments, hats and gloves for the attendees.
