CUHK (SZ) Harvests NSFC Funding

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (University) has proposed several programs and eight of them will receive funding from this prestigious organization, achieving a subsidy rate of 42.1%, a percentage much higher than the nation’s average 21.5%.

    National Natural Foundation of China (NSFC) has published the programs it decides to fund in the year of 2017-2018. The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (University) has proposed several programs and eight of them will receive funding from this prestigious organization, achieving a subsidy rate of 42.1%, a percentage much higher than the nation’s average 21.5%.

    NSFC revealed the results on August 17, 2017. Among those selected projects proposed by the University, one is a key program, one a general program, four programs of National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, one program of NSFC Joint Funds, and one program of NSFC Funds for International Cooperation and Exchanges. Young scholars to receive funding include academicians of The Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada. They have all graduated from prestigious universities, including MIT, University of Cambridge, National University of Singapore, CUHK, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. All of them are experienced in teaching and research. Their research areas cover such frontier disciplines as electronic information, big data, new energy, artificial intelligence, resource optimization, machine learning, microeconomic theory, corporate finance theory, and securities design.
