University College Cork Visited CUHK-Shenzhen

Dr. Martin Howard, Head of School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures from University College Cork (UCC) visited CUHK-Shenzhen on 2 April 2018. Prof. Xitao Fan, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Science received the visitor. Prof. Lidi Wang, Associate Dean of HSS and other colleagues attended the meeting. The aim of this visit is for two institutions to have discussion on exploring possible cooperation on Bachelor-Master arrangement. 

In the afternoon, a lecture about exploring sociolinguistic competence in English as a second language given by Dr. Howard was held successfully. Students showed great interests and asked various questions. Dr. Howard answered each student’s questions accordingly with details and encouragement.

CUHK-Shenzhen signed exchange programme agreements with UCC in May 2017. The first batch of students will participate in the exchange program and summer program in 2018-2019AY.
