Through graphic and written materials from archaeological discoveries, Prof. Lee illustrates how long-distance trade played a major role in the cultural, religious, and artistic exchanges that took place between the major centers of civilization in Europe and Asia during antiquity.

At the end of his lecture, Prof. Lee displays an old maritime map of China, pointing out the historical ports of Guangzhou and Tuen Mun and showing how they played important roles in China’s maritime trade.
